Healthcare Professional Code of Conduct
This Code of Conduct establishes the standards of professional behaviour expected of every person working with or on behalf of Supracarer. It reflects our commitment to compassionate, ethical, safe, and person-centred home healthcare.

1Purpose
All employees, nurses, caregivers, volunteers, contractors, interns, consultants, and partners are expected to understand, uphold, and comply with this Code.
2Our Commitment
Every person representing Supracarer shall:
- Put clients first.
- Deliver safe, compassionate, and respectful care.
- Act with honesty and integrity.
- Protect the dignity and rights of every individual.
- Promote professionalism in every interaction.
- Uphold the reputation of Supracarer.
3Professional Behaviour
Personnel shall:
- Treat everyone with courtesy and respect.
- Be punctual and dependable.
- Maintain professional boundaries with clients and families.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Accept responsibility for their actions.
- Communicate honestly and respectfully.
- Avoid discrimination, bullying, harassment, intimidation, or abusive behaviour.
4Patient-Centred Care
Every client has the right to:
- Be treated with dignity.
- Receive compassionate care.
- Participate in decisions about their care.
- Have their privacy respected.
- Receive care without discrimination.
- Be listened to and treated as an individual.
Staff shall always respect clients' beliefs, culture, religion, language, and personal preferences whenever these do not compromise safety or professional standards.
5Confidentiality
All client information is confidential. Personnel shall:
- Protect all medical and personal information.
- Discuss client information only with authorised persons.
- Secure paper and electronic records.
- Never share photographs or videos of clients without written consent.
- Comply with applicable data protection laws and Supracarer's privacy requirements.
Confidentiality continues even after employment or engagement ends.
6Professional Appearance
Personnel are expected to:
- Wear clean and appropriate attire.
- Display Supracarer identification when required.
- Maintain good personal hygiene.
- Present themselves in a manner that inspires confidence and professionalism.
7Clinical Practice
Healthcare professionals shall:
- Practise only within their professional competence.
- Follow accepted clinical guidelines.
- Maintain required professional registration and licences.
- Escalate concerns when client safety is at risk.
- Report clinical incidents promptly.
No individual shall perform procedures beyond their training or scope of practice.
8Respect in the Workplace
Supracarer has zero tolerance for:
- Harassment
- Sexual harassment
- Violence
- Bullying
- Victimisation
- Discrimination
- Threatening behaviour
Everyone deserves a safe, respectful, and inclusive working environment.
9Conflicts of Interest
Personnel shall:
- Avoid situations where personal interests conflict with organisational responsibilities.
- Declare any actual or potential conflicts.
- Never use their position for personal gain.
10Gifts and Hospitality
Personnel shall not:
- Request gifts from clients.
- Accept gifts or favours that could influence professional judgement.
- Solicit money, loans, or personal benefits from clients or families.
Small tokens of appreciation may only be accepted where permitted by organisational policy and where they do not create a conflict of interest.
11Social Media
Personnel shall:
- Protect client confidentiality at all times.
- Avoid posting identifiable client information.
- Avoid comments that damage the reputation of Supracarer.
- Maintain professionalism when using social media.
Personal opinions should never be presented as official views of Supracarer.
12Use of Company Property
Personnel shall use organisational resources responsibly. This includes:
- Mobile devices
- Computers
- Medical equipment
- Uniforms
- Vehicles
- Documents
- Digital platforms
Misuse or theft of company property may result in disciplinary action.
13Safeguarding
Every member of Supracarer has a duty to protect vulnerable adults and children.
Any suspicion of abuse, neglect, exploitation, or unsafe practice must be reported immediately using the approved reporting procedures.
14Reporting Concerns
Personnel are encouraged to report:
- Unsafe practice
- Fraud
- Abuse
- Ethical concerns
- Professional misconduct
- Data breaches
- Health and safety risks
Concerns raised in good faith will be treated seriously and without retaliation.
15Compliance
Failure to comply with this Code may result in:
- Additional training
- Formal warning
- Suspension
- Termination of engagement
Referral to relevant professional or regulatory authorities where appropriate.
